Last night while chatting with a friend, listening to him, I realized how good a decision I made to drop engineering for good. He still has another year of engineering college life left, which he hopes to complete by 2017 if he manage to pass all his exams.
My friend, a passionate photographer, almost killed his passion for the supposed perks engineering would give him. He gave in to the pressure from family and left home for engineering. Four years later, in 2016, he is not sure if he is depressed or psychotic. For a long time, almost no clicks was seen from him. As of now, his life is a nightmare for him.
Another friend of mine, my classmate at engineering college has been idling at home for the past one year, though he was interested in engineering and enthusiastically followed it.
Now, in May, when parents are running around to get their kids admitted to the countless engineering colleges, I have just one thing to say to parents,
EVERYONE HAS THEIR PASSION. IT MIGHT NOT MAKE SENSE TO ALL, BUT WHEN ONE BELIEVES IN THEIR DREAMS, THEY WILL SURELY WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE IT. DON’T MAKE YOUR CHILDREN FOLLOW YOUR DREAM, LET THEM CHASE THEIR DREAMS.
